Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum: A Celestial Blue Masterpiece

Discover the captivating allure of Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum, a celestial-blue timepiece that merges craftsmanship and celestial beauty.

Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum “celestial blue” is a stunning addition to the Arnold & Son collection, combining the splendor of a starry night, a luminous mother-of-pearl moon, and the delicate brilliance of platinum. This timepiece depicts the greatest astronomical moon in a unique way, capturing the splendor of the night sky in every detail.

Arnold & Son’s commitment to detail and decoration is evident in their exploration of moon phases. The celestial-blue version of the Perpetual Moon timepiece joins the collection, accentuating the moon-phase complication to create a striking effect. Encased in platinum, measuring 41.5 mm in diameter and 11.30 mm in thickness, the Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum “celestial blue” proudly presents the largest moon display

This edition of the Perpetual Moon collection showcases refined characteristics, meticulously redesigned for greater refinement and subtlety. The lugs have been simplified and refined, adopting a tauter form of plunging bars with bevelled ends. Integrated seamlessly with the case middle, both in construction and appearance, the lugs contribute to the timepiece’s elegance. The case has been slightly reduced to 41.5 mm, maintaining the dial opening and resulting in a slimmer bezel. This adjustment draws the eye towards the captivating dial, its finishes, the prominent moon, and the dominant pale-blue shade.

The Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum dial has a stunning “Stellar Rays” look produced via expertly uneven engraving. Various ray depths and widths combine to create a rhythmic light play, which is amplified by many layers of transparent lacquer. The huge white mother-of-pearl moon is artistically depicted with hand-painted shadows and Super-LumiNova coating, set against a midnight-blue PVD-treated textured sky. The moon is surrounded by hand-painted and luminescent-coated Big Dipper and Cassiopeia constellations, which pay respect to John Arnold’s reputation as a builder of naval chronometers.

The case back of the Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum features a secondary indicator for quick and precise moon phase adjustments. The hand-wound calibre A&S1512 powers the timepiece, meticulously tracking the lunar cycle’s development with exceptional precision. Representing a complete lunar cycle of 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.8 seconds, this movement, when regularly wound, would take 122 years to accumulate a day’s difference from celestial reality.

The A&S1512 calibre, like other Arnold & Son movements, has been created, manufactured, ornamented, assembled, adjusted, and cased entirely at the Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The calibre has two barrels and a 3 Hz oscillating frequency, with a power reserve of 90 hours. Immerse yourself in the enchantment of the Perpetual Moon 41.5 Platinum, a celestial-blue watch that combines workmanship and celestial beauty.
