Through its technical partnership with Italian supercar maker Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Roger Dubuis presented the Excalibur Aventador S to showcase what the alliance of two cutting edge industries can accomplish. Excessive and Extravagant like the bull-badged supercars, the Excalibur Aventador S timepiece housed the iconic RD103SQ in a Ceramic Composite Fiber and titanium case. For its e-commerce debut, the watch borne out of this high-speed partnership now comes in pristine white and limited to an eight-piece series.
The Excalibur Aventador S online exclusive features a wide range of recognizable design details straight out of the Aventador such as dual sprung balances inclined at 45 degrees, strut bars and a power reserve adorned with racing codes and an Alcantara strap. Not to mention a world first in the form of Ceramic Composite Fiber. Twenty per cent lighter than carbon, this state-of-the-art material is the result of a manufacturing process developed at Roger Dubuis and a symbol of the ultimate technical prowess. Used in aerospace as a heat shield, and in this instance combined with ceramic for its resistance, resin is one of the hardest of all materials. The achievement of using it in watchmaking is a true affirmation of Roger Dubuis’ uncontested place in the universe.
With the exclusive online debut of the Excalibur Aventador S, Roger Dubuis has set its sights on carving out a new path to experience hyper horology.
