IWC Schaffhausen Celebrates 75th Anniversary with New Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Versions

A tribute to legendary aviation timepieces and unparalleled craftsmanship

IWC Schaffhausen, a renowned luxury watchmaker, celebrates the 75th anniversary of its iconic Mark series with the introduction of two new versions of the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX. Paying homage to the legendary Mark 11 developed for the British Royal Air Force, the Mark XX continues the tradition of exceptional timepieces in this celebrated collection. These stainless steel novelties feature silver-plated dials, complementing the existing line-up of blue, green, and black dials.

IWC Schaffhausen made history almost seven decades ago when it designed the Mark 11 for the British Royal Air Force. This pilot’s watch not only marked the start of the iconic Mark series, but it also established the standard for technical features and useful instrument design in modern pilot’s watches. IWC announced the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX as the latest edition to this prestigious series in 2022. After introducing models with blue, green, and black dials, IWC now rounds off the collection with two gorgeous versions with silver-plated dials. One model has a black calfskin strap (Ref. IW328207), while the other has a 5-link stainless steel bracelet (Ref. IW328208).

The 40-millimeter stainless steel case of the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX has been rigorously re-engineered with a reworked side profile and better lug geometry to ensure an optimal fit on all wrists. The high-contrast dial, with refined numerals and indexes, luminous accents, and black hands, ensures outstanding readability in all lighting circumstances. The IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre powers the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX, an automatic movement with a silicon escapement and twin pawl winding system that provides an extraordinary five-day power reserve. The front glass is specifically fixed to remain intact even if the cockpit pressure drops suddenly.

Enhancing its practicality, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX features the integrated EasX-CHANGE® system, enabling wearers to switch straps or bracelets effortlessly without the need for tools. With a wide selection of accessories, including calfskin straps, stainless steel bracelets, and water-proof rubber straps in vibrant colors, customization options are abundant. The Pilot’s Watch Mark XX, with its versatility and 10-bar water resistance, truly embodies the essence of a quintessential sports timepiece.
