A collaboration is always as exciting prospect.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi was born out of the agreement between the governments of Abu Dhabi and France in 2007. In 2017, the Louvre Abu Dhabi finally opened its doors to the art community. Their collection includes prehistory tools and artifacts, iconic paintings and contemporary artwork. Through the years since opening its doors, the Louvre Abu Dhabi has had amazing exhibitions along with the in-house collections.

February 2020 is a wondrous month for the art world in Abu Dhabi. The night of February 11 was a particularly spectacular evening at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The building alone is a sight to behold. Designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Jean Nouvel, the building features a fantastic dome of 7,850 unique stars. The location was made more glamorous still by the Bulgari event.

Bulgari, jeweler extraordinaire, created a brand new collection by bringing together the beautiful spirit of la dolce vita from Rome and the adventurous spirit of Abu Dhabi. The Jannah Collection was unveiled at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. This is the first time a member of the ruling United Arab Emirates Royal Family has participated in such a collaboration.

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan helped create the collection as a tribute to her grandfather Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and her beloved grandmother, the Mother of the Nation. The collection features jewels of the Middle East shown side-by-side with pieces from Bulgari’s Cinemagia collection.

The unveiling evening was a night to remember. Bulgari certainly knows how to present their luxurious pieces elegantly. Bulgari’s CEO Jean-Christophe Babin welcomed esteemed guests, celebrities, and media for an amazing evening. The guest list was a veritable who’s who of star power with local and international celebrities, including Sonam Kapoor, Nadine Nassib Njeim, Dorra Zarrouk, Lojain Omran, Aseel Omran, Tara Emad, Saba Mubarak, and Karena Lam in attendance. Long time friend of the brand and international actress Sonam Kapoor regaled all the guests as she told the story of the eastern and western culture fusions.

Music also filled the air in the Louvre Abu Dhabi and guests milled around and took in the sights. There were over 70 fantastic Bulgari pieces to keep the guests busy, whether they fancied the jewellery or the timepieces. Bulgari did not disappoint.

In fact, they brought a bit of Roma to Abu Dhabi for the spectacular meal. Chef Niko Romito, 3-star Michelin chef and curator of Il Ristorante at the Bulgari Hotels and Resorts, planned the menu to highlight the tastes of Italy.

The success of the evening and the collection is proof that collaboration is always a worthwhile endeavor. We look forward to more successful – and glamorous – Bulgari partnerships in the future.
