Outdoorsmen and weekend warriors will be heading to Porac Pampanga this February for a three-day camping event. Billed as the Outdoor Expo North 2023, the event is touted to be the largest gathering of outdoorsmen, to date; the venue will have a campsite suitable for 400 campers, with a multitude of activities the entire weekend.

Organizers recently spoke with the media about all the activities that their fellow campers could participate in. There would be talks/forums on overlanding, which, incidentally has gained more enthusiasts during the pandemic; cabin-fever was a real threat to one’s mental health, and, overlanding was the cure; Outdoor cooking demonstrations, motorcycle trail clinics, off-road clinics, camping, and, so much more. One highlight of the event, which will be hosted by Barebones Living, will be the fire-cooking demo of Chef Chavi, popularly known as Baguio Mountain Man.

Aside from the dedicated campgrounds, the expo will also feature an exhibit area, wherein around 40 promoters/vendors will be on hand to showcase all the products one would need for the complete overlanding experience; some notable brands present are Barebones, Post General, Camp Cover, Eezy Supplies, Front Runner, SmartCap, Kaon, Ecoflow, Decked, AluBox, Leitner, ARB, Hitchpro, Hitchfire, Poler, Gecko Overland Trailers, Muscle Trucks, TJM, THOR, Poler, DOD, Snow Peak, The Travel Club, ROX, Overland Kings, KTM, Himo/Frey and many more.

Along with a weekend of “roughing it”, campers will be treated to free entrance (4pax) to Sandbox (located just across the event site), also, campers are entitled to participate in a raffle draw, with prizes from the various sponsors and vendors.

Interested parties can log on to https://outdoorexpo.ph/register to reserve their camping slot. Camping fee is PHP3,500 for two nights. This will include entrance for four, along with a 30 sqm slot for your vehicle. There will also be portalets and a dedicated water supply for all campers. Attendees are encouraged to take note of the weather, it will be extremely warm during mid-day, with temperatures hovering between 30-34C, easing off in the early evening.

Should you wish to just visit the expo and not take part in the full weekend camping experience, you can head over to the Alviera Estate in Porac Pampanga; entrance to the event is just PHP 150/person/day.

Alviera Estate is a project of Ayala Land in cooperation with Leonio Land; interested parties are instructed to take the Porac exit at the SCTEX, directional signs can be found during the event days.
