DB28XP Kind of Blue: The Perfect Fusion of Blue Excellence

A limited edition timepiece seamlessly blending classic craftsmanship with modern design.

At the 2023 Geneva Watch Days, De Bethune proudly unveiled its latest creation, the DB28XP Kind of Blue. This limited edition timepiece represents the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, drawing inspiration from two iconic models in De Bethune’s collection, the DB28XP, and the DB28 Kind of Blue.

The intriguing dial of the DB28XP Kind of Blue is made of polished blue-tinged grade 5 titanium and features an architectural confluence of space, time, and light. This unusual deep blue tint, obtained through natural oxidation, ensures that each watch is a one-of-a-kind work of art. The dial, which is created entirely of Microlight, reimagines and modernizes the traditional guilloché method, adding depth and producing a more contemporary finish.

De Bethune’s journey into ultra-thin watches began in 2020 with the launch of the DB28XP, celebrating a decade of mechanical and aesthetic innovation. This pursuit of slimness represents both a technical and aesthetic challenge, showcasing the brand’s commitment to precision and design harmony.

The manual-winding movement, DB2115v12, features the De Bethune balance wheel, which is visible through a dial hole at 6 o’clock. This unique movement is the result of rigorous research, and it features a balance wheel with little gray gold weights, assuring amazing inertia, reliability, and regulating quality. It is equipped with the renowned De Bethune hairspring, which provides better concentricity quality and an amazing 6-day power reserve, which is visible via the sapphire glass case back.

In terms of durability, De Bethune introduces an exclusive triple shock-absorbing system, designed to effectively dampen violent impacts and maintain the balance wheel’s precision. This unique approach ensures the timepiece’s longevity.

The DB28XP Kind of Blue’s lightweight and comfortable design is complemented by a patented De Bethune system with mobile cradles that adapt to wrist movements. The alligator strap with a titanium buckle enhances the practicality and comfort of this exceptional timepiece.

The DB28XP Kind of Blue is a limited edition masterwork that expertly blends tradition and modernity. It is destined to become a prized collector’s item due to its fascinating design, cutting-edge technology, and rarity.
