The Prix Solo artgenève – F.P. Journe 2018, Geneva

Awarded to the Georges Philippe et Nathalie Vallois Gallery for the solo exhibition by Niki de Saint Phalle et Jacques Villeglé

The Contemporary Art salon artgenève has opened its doors from January 31st to February 4th at Palexpo Geneva. The Prix Solo artgenève-F.P.Journe 2018 rewarded the best monographic exhibition presented by one of the 14 participating galleries. It was awarded Wednesday night to the Georges Philippe and Nathalie Vallois Gallery, Paris, for the solo show of Niki de Saint Phalle and Jacques Villeglé.

The Jury of the Prix Solo artgenève-F.P.Journe comprises three major figures of the European Art scene: Caroline Bourgeois (Curator of the François Pinault Collection), Lionel Bouvier (Director of the Mamco, Geneva) and Hans-Ulrich Obrist (Director of the Serpentine Galleries, London). A work of Niki de Saint Phalle, purchased by F.P.Journe, will be donated to the Mamco, Museum of Contemporary Art of the city of Geneva.

The 2018 edition of artgenève is rich of 80 international exhibiting galleries presenting some 700 artists, as well as a number of exhibitions and performances amongst which the large indoor “Park of Sculptures” by Swiss artist Max Bill for The Estate Show, the retrospective exhibition of works by Martin Disler, the installation of a monumental tree by Giuseppe Penone and the giant sculpture by Marc Leckey. artgenève also presents a 5 years retrospective of the Prix Solo artgenève-F.P.Journe as well as major exhibitions by the V-A-C Foundation (Moscow), the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and among the invited exhibition, The Ringier Collection (Zurich) and The White Chapel (London).

In 2018, artgenève enlarges its offer to decorative arts, historic and contemporary design and tribal art by inviting the PAD (Pavilion des Arts et du Design, Paris & London).

F.P.Journe pursues its commitment in the Art world as watch partner of the salon artmonte-carlo, from 27 to 29 April, 2018 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
