The Maestro collection is one that is dear to our hearts, as it features one of the most sought-after complications. A complication is anything a watch has that goes beyond telling time. In this case, the RAYMOND WEIL complication is a moon phase display.  A moon phase indicator, as expected, tracks the phases of the moon. The moon completes a rotation around the Earth once a month, or to be a bit more precise, once every 29 and half days. And all you have to do is glance at your watch to know where in the cycle the moon is.

The Maestro Moon Phase watch is refined and classic, all tucked into a 40mm case. The dial is poetry in motion, with gentle wave-like ripples across the either blue, silver, or grey expanse. The Roman numeral hour markers and elegant hands complete the look. The moon phase indicator is at the 6 o’clock, and in an inspired move, visible through a crescent-shaped aperture. See the moon through the moon. The watch features another complication, this time the date, at the 3 o’clock. The look of the dial is balanced. I particularly prefer the silver dial with the blued hands. The case back has a sapphire crystal, through which you can view the mechanical movement.

The watch is powered by the RW 4280, a Swiss automatic winding mechanical movement. This means you won’t need to manually wind your watch, as the rotor inside the watch winds the mainspring as your move your wrist within the day.
