Three new models are available in the 2023 collection, each with a revised steel case measuring 38.5 mm in diameter. These clocks, with satin-brushed finishes and reduced chamfered lugs, ensure a flawless fit and add to the attractiveness of the wrist.
Since the late 1950s, the Flagship series has been an emblem of Longines’ heritage. The name alludes to the proud banner of a fleet’s Commander-in-Chief. This enduring tradition is delicately imprinted on the back of each watch, which features a caravel on a gold medallion, evoking the brand’s maritime theme.
Underlying the captivating appearance lies the L899.5 self-winding mechanical movement, skillfully incorporating a moon-phase complication displayed on a small dial at 6 o’clock. This astronomical function harmoniously blends with the date indicator hand, beautifully reflecting the moon’s colors. The calibre’s precision is further enhanced by a silicon balance-spring, rendering the timepieces resistant to magnetic fields, and providing a remarkable power reserve of up to 72 hours.
The Flagship Heritage versions, which pay respect to the original 1957 watch, feature distinctive domed dials in silvered opaline, sunray silver, or sunray blue. These dials exude traditional attractiveness, with eleven applied hour markers, either gilded or silvered, and elongated markers at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock. Depending on the model, the hour and minute hands are delicately gilt- or silvered-polished and coated with Super-LumiNova® for great readability in all lighting circumstances.
