Arnold & Son presents the Globetrotter Platinum, a timepiece that pays homage to the Earth as our most precious asset. Clad in 950 platinum, this watch showcases the brand’s unique perspective on timekeeping around the world. Inspired by the chronometers used by 18th-century explorers aboard British Navy ships, the Globetrotter Platinum features a central globe depicting the northern hemisphere, adorned with an immense 18-carat gold bridge. The openworked design of the bridge is meticulously crafted with chamfered, polished, and satin-finished elements, creating a striking visual signature for the watch.

The dial of the Globetrotter Platinum is elegantly designed with faceted applique indexes in 18-carat gold, enhanced with Super-LumiNova, on two planes. The lower part of the dial features a world map crafted from mother-of-pearl in graduated shades of blue, while the universal hours ring is made of transparent sapphire crystal. Red arrows indicate local times, and world times can be read by visualizing imaginary longitudes from the jewel in the central bridge to the 24-hour ring, adding to the watch’s functional and modern character.

The Globetrotter Platinum’s transverse bridge, also made of 18-carat gold, is architecturally structured and meticulously finished with polished, satin-finished, and chamfered edges. Its size and complexity required a special degree of precision, showcasing the brand’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship. The 45 mm diameter case of the watch is made of 950 platinum, exuding luxury and power on the wrist. The globe on the dial is intricately detailed, with America, Eurasia, and Africa sculpted from a single piece of polished and rhodium-plated land mass, highlighted by a matte finish on the mountain ranges. The oceans are hand-painted with multiple layers of lacquer, enriched with blue pigments and powdered mother-of-pearl, creating depth and radiance.

The Globetrotter Platinum is powered by the House’s automatic A&S6022 movement, entirely developed, manufactured, decorated, assembled, adjusted, and cased-up at Arnold & Son’s Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The movement features a 22-carat gold oscillating weight with a skeletonized ‘Clous de Paris’ guilloché motif, along with traditional fine watchmaking finishes such as circular-grained main plate, Côtes de Genève stripes, satin-finished wheels, and polished and chamfered screws. The movement is also adorned with a specific NAC finish, similar to platinum, creating an anthracite color that perfectly matches the 950 platinum case of the Globetrotter Platinum, adding to its overall high-quality and exquisite character.
