The Unveiling Of The AMB 001 Pro Track Superbike By Aston Martin And Brough Superior Has Injected A New Level Of Excitement And Intensity

The AMB 001 Pro, a high-performance track-only superbike, has been unveiled at the EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show by Aston Martin and Brough Superior. This limited edition bike is inspired by Aston Martin’s hypercar, the Valkyrie AMR Pro, and represents the latest design collaboration between the two brands, combining Aston Martin’s iconic design with Brough Superior’s state-of-the-art engineering.

Offered in a single Pro specification, the AMB 001 Pro is a successor to the sold-out AMB 001 and boasts a 25% power increase on its predecessor, producing 225 HP and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.28 hp/kg, similar to that of a Formula One car.

According to Thierry Henriette, the CEO of Brough Superior, the collaboration between the two brands has produced a new superbike that will excite customers. He stated that the new engine type, with a fully machined billet aluminium crankcase, marks a significant increase in power that elevates the AMB 001 Pro to the hyperbike sector.

Marek Reichman, the Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin, praised the simplicity of the formula for the AMB 001 Pro, stating that when you push something to the very edge of its capacity, the resulting experience can be breathtaking. He also noted that the rider will feel as though they are part of the track, thanks to the fluidity achieved by the seamless integration of advanced materials, design, and technical capabilities.

In 2019, at EICMA, the AMB 001, the first-ever motorcycle from Aston Martin, was unveiled. The partnership between Aston Martin and Brough Superior, two iconic British performance brands, resulted in a modern, lightweight, and powerful sports bike, limited to just 100 units, which is now completely sold out.

Building on the success of the AMB 001, the new AMB 001 Pro takes track exhilaration to a whole new level. Its power increase comes from a new CNC-machined dual-cylinder 997cc engine, fully machined from AL 5000 solid billet. The ideal properties of the material enhance the stiffness of the engine’s structural components, while a new cylinder design with wet cylinder liners helps improve cooling.

To increase downforce, the front spoiler and side wings have been updated, and the front cowl is now attached to the bodywork to manage the downforce at the front end of the bike. An air blade produces a tunnel effect that directs air over the rider. The airflow enters through a large intake integrated into the front wing, then passes through the new front cowl, to be deflected through the dynamic windshield. The aerodynamic updates are further refined by a rear fin with an aero stabilizer design.

The AMB 001 Pro is offered in a single specification, featuring a racing livery that combines Aston Martin Verdant Jade with satin finished carbon fiber and black Cerakote engine and suspension. Photon Lime accents pay homage to Aston Martin’s winning bloodline of track racers.

AMB 001 Pro

Like other extreme performance, ultra-luxury Aston Martin models, the AMB 001 Pro comes with the Aston Martin ‘lacewing’ badge. The chemical-etched aluminum lacewing, designed for the Aston Martin Valkyrie program, is 99.4% lighter than the brand’s regular enamel badge and 30% thinner than a human hair at just 70 microns thick. It will be applied on the nose cowl and tank, on top of the painted finish yet beneath a perfectly smooth coat of lacquer.

At EICMA, visitors can see the AMB 001 Pro prototype displayed alongside its inspiration, the Valkyrie AMR Pro.

Initial orders for the strictly limited edition AMB 001 Pro have already been taken, and it will be hand-built at the Brough Superior factory in Toulouse, France. The first deliveries are expected to take place in Q4 2023.
