Unboxing In Style

Juvo watch box in collaboration with dutch artist Teun Van Heerebeek

Dutch artist Teun van Heerebeek gives us joy to match the perfect watches we have chosen. After all, anything is made more special with the right presentation.

When JUVO successfully launched a line of watch winders in 2016, it didn’t take them too long to realize that watch enthusiasts were also watch accessory enthusiasts. This year, they decided to create the ideal presentation and storage boxes for our beloved timepieces. Stylish, functional, and best of all, affordably priced.

JUVO chose to collaborate with Dutch artist Teun van Heerebeek. Van Heerebeek is an illustrator, artist, and watch lover. He blended his two interests – watches and art – and allowed his creativity to come to fruition in the perfect watch boxes.

Teun launched his website in 2017, called Watches and Pencils. As he explains, “For me Watches and Pencils is an ideal stage to display things that are of interest among us watch nerds. Through my illustrations I can bring certain things to one’s attention and discuss these in a more creative way. Sometimes there is a clear message or question, while other times the illustration is just a tribute to an iconic watch.”

The collection features two watch boxes, each one limited to 100 pieces. The first watch box is ideal for the water sport enthusiasts among us, specifically those who dive. The clean white box, with piano white lacquer, has an illustration of a Desk Diver. What is a Desk Diver, you may ask. It is simple term describing those who wear a diving watch to the office. A perfect play on words to match the perfect box. This is the perfect box to hold your Rolex Sea-Dweller, even if the watch scratches were caused by scraping against your desk instead of the deep-sea rocks beneath the waves.

The second box also has the piano white lacquer finish but this time the illustration is of a propeller plane with a Pilots watch over the cockpit. The illustration highlights the distinctive features of pilots watches – the white triangle at 12 o’clock, hour numbers that are easy to read, and steel blue hands. Your pilot watches from IWC would fit quite nicely in this watch box.

Both watch boxes can hold up to ten watches, so even if you only have a handful of watches at the moment, there is room to grow. JUVO believes in keeping your collection secure, so the boxes come with a lock and key, and a spare key, just in case. The JUVO boxes are clean and pristine, classic without being boring. The illustrations by Teun van Heerebeek add just enough detail to the white lacquer boxes to show the brand philosophy, “More is less. Less is more.” Unboxing your watches from these JUVO boxes will surely be something you look forward to each day.
