The Twenty-4 collection from Patek Philippe is designed for the modern active woman. As the name suggests, the watch is meant to accompany a woman throughout her day – all twenty-four hours of it. The watch is an assertive design, yet elegant and feminine, and compliments both business attire and eveningwear.
Patel Philippe began the revitalization of their Twenty-4 collection in 2020, with a fresh interpretation of the manchette or cuff design. They are continuing the renewal of the collection in 2021 with the introduction of three models that continue with design aspects released last year (check out Calibre 130 for those details).
While the Twenty-4 collection may be best known for its cuff version, there are also round case models. There are two models released this year, and each is powered by the 324 S C self-winding movement. The transparent case back allows us to see and appreciate the hand finishing and decoration of the self-winding movement. The cases are 36mm in diameter, and adding a little bling to the model are the diamonds around the case, 160 of them set in the dentelle (lacework) technique. These are three-hander models, meaning they have hour, minute, and seconds hands. They also have a date aperture at the 6 o’clock.
This year, Patek Philippe adds a new color to the collection with the Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200A-011. The stainless steel watch has an olive green sunburst dial, nicely complemented with the white gold applied Arabic numerals and white gold hands. The date aperture at 6 o’clock also has a white gold frame. The polished steel bracelet has a new, patented fold-over clasp secured by 4 independent catches. This reference joins the previously released stainless steel models with a blue sunburst dial or a gray sunburst dial.
The second round case model available is the Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200R-011. This model takes rose gold to task and has it on the case, the sunburst dial, the accent on the hour, minute, and seconds hands, and the frame of the date aperture. The warm sheen of the delicate color is feminine indeed. The rose gold links of the bracelet are hand-polished to a delightful shine. This reference joins the previously released rose gold models with a chocolate brown dial, or a shantung decoration, and the jewelry versions and Haute Joaillerie versions too.
Of course the cuff style makes an appearance in this renewed Twenty-4 collection, and it is a beauty. The Twenty~4 Reference 4910/1201R-001 is the manchette style watch in rose gold with a chocolate brown sunburst dial. The warm-toned color combination is refined and elegant. The rectangular case has a 2-tier shape, with 17 Top Wesselton Pure diamonds on each length or vertical side. The dial layout is quite clean with applied Arabic numerals, applied trapeze shape hour markers, and the round baton style hands. This model is powered by an E15 quartz movement, and the mechanical components are crafted with as much details and workmanship as a mechanical movement. This reference joins the previously released manchette models with a blue sunburst dial or a gray sunburst dial.
Rituals of My Life
Patek Philippe launched the “Rituals of My Life” digital campaign in autumn of 2020 and they are continuing with the campaign this year. The campaign is meant to draw focus to the special moments that fill a woman’s day with grace and beauty – all twenty-4 hours of it.
