Valentine’s Day is a couple weeks away and though you may have already started the Search for the Gift, here is one watch that should be at the top of the list. The Lady Serenade from Glashütte Original is delicate, precious, and delightful.
Launched in January 2022, the Lady Serenade is a vision in pink. The inspiration behind this beautiful watch’s color is the crocus flower. The crocus is the first flower to bloom in spring, pushing through the snow to blossom perhaps in defiance of the cold. The crocus also symbolizes rebirth and strength.
This watch has the Calibre 39-22 automatic movement and is finely decorated, perhaps a special touch for the lady whose wrist will don this delightful watch. The craftsmanship on the movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is water-resistant to 5 bar and has a power reserve of 40 hours.
The stainless steel watch has a diamond-set bezel with 52 diamonds (one per week?), which gives it sparkle and a touch of flair. The white mother-of-pearl dial has that luster that adds elegance. There is a date window at the 6 (hmm, can it always be set to the 14th for Valentine’s?). The hour markers at 3, 9, and 12 are Roman numerals in rhodium-plated appliques. But the best part of the dial is the hour markers for the other numbers – these are delightful heart-shaped pink sapphire crystals. You can wear your heart (rather, 8 of them) on your wrist.
There are options for the strap, based on what you prefer. The 1-39-22-21-22-44 model has a pin buckle on the crocus-colored Louisiana alligator strap, while the 1-39-22-21-22-04 model has a foldover clasp. The 1-39-22-21-22-34 model has a metal bracelet, so it’s just a little different.
Launched in January 2022, this Lady Serenade from Glashütte Original is a limited edition of just 50 pieces. Check out the website (www.glashuette-original.com) before you head to a Glashütte Original Boutique or authorized retailer. Best to hurry though, since this is a limited edition.
