The First Version Of The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime

The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime, first unveiled at the Manufacture’s 175th anniversary in 2014 as a limited-series Reference 5175, made its debut in the current collection in 2016 with black and white dials in a white gold case. In 2019, two blue opaline dials (6300G-010) replaced the original dials. Patek Philippe has now reinterpreted the design of this exceptional watch by introducing a “two-tone” version, featuring a reversible double-sided white gold case combined with rose gold pushers, crown, minute repeater slide piece, and swivel links. This is a precious color combination that the Manufacture has previously offered on Grand Complication models such as References 5303 and 5304, which have rose gold cases enhanced by white gold inlays.

In keeping with this gold color scheme, the watch features two gold dials with an opaline brown shade, displaying a hand guilloched hobnail pattern on the time side. Additionally, a two-tone patinated dark chestnut alligator leather strap with a two-tone fold-over clasp further enhances the watch’s aesthetic appeal.

This model, with its 20 complications, is currently the most complicated Patek Philippe wristwatch in production. The striking mechanism features three gongs and five chiming modes: grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie, minute-repeater, and two patented world exclusives – an alarm that sounds the programmed time and a date-repeater that strikes the date at will. The manually wound caliber 300 GS AL 36-750 QIS FUS IRM also powers a perpetual calendar with a four-digit year display.

Reference 6300GR-001 comes with white gold cuff links, which feature a brown opaline center adorned with a hand-guilloched hobnail pattern and a rose gold Calatrava cross. This new model replaces the white gold Reference 6300G-010 and is now part of the three Haute Joaillerie versions in the collection.
