Oris Dat Watt Limited Edition II: A Timepiece of Conservation and Change

Unveiling the second limited edition collaboration with the common Wadden Sea Secretariat

Oris renews its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability with the launch of the Dat Watt Limited Edition II, the second installment of their collaboration with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS). This partnership aims to protect the unique ecosystem of the Wadden Sea while inspiring change and engagement among the youth.

The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat strives to protect the Wadden Sea’s fragile balance by combating challenges such as overfishing, pollution, shipping, and climate change. Despite being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its amazing biodiversity, this area, known as “Dat Watt,” confronts persistent challenges. The CWSS works hard to guarantee that the Wadden Sea remains a flourishing ecosystem for future generations.

Oris’s dedication to positive change is evident not only through their sustainability efforts but also their commitment to collaborations that make a difference. Rolf Studer, Co-CEO of Oris, emphasizes the importance of this extended partnership with CWSS in promoting conservation, sustainability, and humanitarian values. He envisions a brighter future achieved by collective efforts to “Bring Change for the Better.”

The Dat Watt Limited Edition II watch stands as a testament to this commitment. Built on the foundation of the Aquis diver’s watch, this timepiece not only symbolizes the partnership’s strength but also reflects the vibrant green hues of the Wadden Sea’s salt marshes. These marshes, home to diverse flora and fauna, play a crucial role in storing CO2 and supporting the ecosystem.

Aside from its symbolic significance, the Dat Watt Limited Edition II is a high-performance diver’s watch. It blends functionality and style with water resistance up to 300 meters and features like as a unidirectional rotating bezel and lumed hands. A Swiss-made automatic mechanical movement with novel characteristics such as a small seconds sub-dial and a circular calendar function is also included in the watch.

Limited to just 2,009 pieces, a number significant for the UNESCO World Heritage Site designation year, this watch captures the essence of the Wadden Sea’s natural beauty and the shared goals of Oris and CWSS. Through this timepiece, wearers become advocates for conservation, carrying the message of positive change.

As Oris continues to push for “Change for the Better,” their collaboration with CWSS stands as a shining example of how the worlds of horology and environmental conservation intersect for a meaningful cause. With the Dat Watt Limited Edition II, time tells a story of precision, craftsmanship, unity, commitment, and hope for a sustainable future.
