Swiss Watch Company Maurice Lacroix Brings Their Vision Of Swiss Watchmaking To The Philippines

Swiss watch brand Maurice Lacroix said hello once again to the Philippines, with new partner Watchworks heading the expansion. Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, presented both their new watches and their old heritage. They have the desire to bring Swiss watchmaking into the world at a rather wide range of value-oriented points and attitudes. These can include their new models using sustainable materials for the younger buyers such as the colorful AIKON #tide. But they also have pieces from their MASTERPIECE collection such as triple retrogrades and skeletons.

They are refreshingly transparent about which pieces use supplied Swiss movements, which use supplied Swiss movements with their own modules and which pieces are Swiss of their own manufacture. They also have pieces that basically came from the whims of their rather inventive watchmakers such as a movement that has the hands swing free unless you move to tell the actual time. This may seem rather funny, but from an horological technology standpoint, it is hugely challenging and interesting. The fact that a company decided to actually follow the wishes of their watchmaker to try something new should be applauded.
