Created in the 1930s at the request of two merchants from Portugal, the Portugieser is IWC’s most iconic collection. The clear and functional design of this watch looks just as fresh and contemporary today as it did more than 80 years ago. This year, the Schaffhausen-based company released a new line of Portugieser models that will suit any watch-lover’s fancy.
IWC presents the new Portugieser Automatic 40. Keeping true to its design cues, this watch is neatly presented with an open dial and a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. This timeless design now comes in a more compact case diameter of 40 mm. Beneath the case is the IWC-manufactured 82200 calibre, a high-quality automatic movement equipped with a Pellaton winding system with components made of virtually wear-free ceramic.
Four versions of this 40 mm case watch is available:
Reference IW358303 comes in a stainless steel case, silver-plated dial, gold-plated hands and appliqués, and a black alligator leather strap.
Reference IW358304 has a stainless steel case, silver-plated dial, blue hands and appliqués, and a blue alligator leather strap.
