The IWC Schaffhausen Portofino Automatic 34 ladies’ collection has been updated, and we couldn’t be happier. While the collection has been a fan favorite for a while, it’s good to have something new to appreciate and fawn over.

The Portofino Automatic 34 has long been admired for it’s clean and pure lines. The classic aesthetic means the watch suits a range of outfits and events, from the casual to the more elegant. The watch was initially launched in 2019, and now IWC brings a few more options to the table.
To appreciate
The Portofino Automatic and Automatic Day & Night models come in different strap options now. The calfskin straps, in a color that matches or complements the dial, have butterfly folding clasps. The stainless steel bracelets are a 5-link model that have both polished and satin-finished treatments. If you wish to switch out a leather strap for the bracelet, the quick-change system and accompanying tool allow you to do so with ease, and in the comfort of your home.
To fawn over
Some models of the Portofino Automatic 34 have the clean bezel while others have a diamond-set bezel. The classic bezel models are suited for day and night events, while the diamond-set bezel models add a little extra glamour. The watch case has been updated to allow larger diamonds (always a good thing), which in turn mean more sparkle. The setting for the diamonds has been improved too, to give the diamonds more visibility.
Another added feature for some Portofino models is the day & night complication. Though it sounds complicated (see what I did there?), the feature is easy to understand and adds interest to the watch without cluttering the dial. The day & night complication simply rotates and provides a visual guide of the passing of time. The sun or moon takes center stage in the subdial, depending on the time of day. In keeping with the clean aesthetic of the Portofino, the sun and moon match the hands and hour marker colors.

The IWC Portofino Automatic 34 has six models to choose from. Each model is powered by the Calibre 35100, a mechanical movement, and has a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Ref. IW357413 model has a stainless steel case, and a blue dial with 12 diamond hour markers, and is paired with a stainless steel bracelet. The Ref. IW357412 model has a stainless steel case, and green dial with 12 diamond hour markers, and is paired with green calfskin strap. The Ref. IW357411 model has stainless steel case, silver-plated dial with 12 diamond hour markers, and is paired with a, blue calfskin strap. The Ref. IW657601 model has a stainless steel case with 54 diamonds (hour markers and bezel), and a silver-plated dial with 12 diamond hour markers, and is paired with a stainless steel bracelet.
The Ref. IW357415 model has an 18-carat 5N gold case, and green dial with 12 diamond hour markers, and is paired with a green calfskin strap. The Ref. IW357414 model has an 18-carat 5N gold case, and a silver-plated dial with 12 diamond hour markers, and is paired with a taupe calfskin strap.
