Hyper Horology Meets Virtual Motorsports

Roger Dubuis Becomes Official Timekeeper for “The Real Race”

Given the current situation that has affected every aspect of life particularly those that involve mass gatherings, the social nature of man has driven him to search for alternative means to get together in pursuit of passion and well, to be honest, to scratch the proverbial itch to compete. This is especially true for those engaged in motorsports. And this is where the larger than life vision of Manufacture Roger Dubuis comes in. The brand has decided to reinvent their haute horlogerie game by partnering with an iconic Italian supercar maker as Official Timing Partner to a game-changing avenue to virtual motorsports.

One avenue that has opened up for racing drivers and fans alike is The Real Race, a Sim Racing championship that combines real and virtual racing. With Lamborghini Squadra Corse onboard this e-sport, there will be five qualifier weekends culminating in a live final race at Lamborgini’s Sant’ Agata Bolognese headquarters.

To mark this occasion, Roger Dubuis is introducing a collection of hyper-racing design Excalibur Huracán timepieces inspired by the virtual Huracáns competing in The Real Race events. These racing models feature clearly identifiable super car design codes. The strap pattern of the watches even features a simulation of the Pirelli tire patterns used for the Super Tropeo. That’s how the manufacture was willing to go in terms of creativity and attention to detail.

The Real Race e-sport event will run from May 29 to August 2.
