Third time’s a charm: fashion designer Anja Gockel has transformed the lobby of the Adlon Kempinski Hotel into a catwalk for fashion, and Fahion Week once again took Berlin by storm.

For the third year in a row, famed designer Anja Gockel, herself from Mainz, turned the Adon Kempinski lobby into a runway model’s platform for performance… and as it turns out, into a watch-lover’s hot spot as well. Sinn Spezialuhren was collaborating, so the models were not only wearing high fashion but mechanical high horlogerie as well.

500 guests were on hand to see Anja GOckel’s 2018/2019 autumn and winter collection, and if time wasn’t already on their minds, then the Sinn Spezialuhren wristwatches definitely helped point the way. The collection this year was named “Phenomenal Woman” which itself took the title from a poem by civil right leader and poet Maya Angelou.

Anja Gockel is well aware of the impact of a Sinn – she wears a Frankfurt World Time Watch 6060 herself. And the simplicity of the fashion contrasted nively with the complications of the timepieces.

The Sinn watches were of course on display on the wrists of the models, but customers could also go take a closer look and ask questions at Anja’s own workshop the next day. It made for an excellent chance for the customers to experience firsthand not just the fashion designer’s work, but to enjoy one of the things that she herself delighted in.

And they were keeping good company, since Anja Gockel was also honoured with an award during the event. After having crowned her ‘Designer of the Year’ in 2017, the Association of German Fashion Designers (VDMD) has now appointed her ‘Fashion Design Ambassador’ for 2018. It’s turning into a good year for her all around.
