At The Vantage

Aston Martin grants perspective

The New Aston Martin is a joy to behold, but it’s that were all it were, it would be a mere shell made of beauty. Fortunately the company has decades of experience in crafting what has become to be known as not just a car but a symbol, not just a means of transportation but a pleasure in itself.

For the Hong Kong release, viewers could see this much for themselves: the symbol was a new one. Sleek and stylish has meant different things over the years, and the new 2018 Aston Martin Vantage is definitely a child of the 21st Century.

The new Aston Martin vantage has styling that sets it aside – or rather, far far ahead – but it doesn’t just dress to impress. It has power to back up those looks, and I imagine the Hong Kong residents were looking at their roads on the way home with a whole new eye to future road trips. The Vantage is powered by a 4.0-liter 510PS/685Nm twin-turbo V8 engine, which is mated to an eight-speed VF transmission. It has a top speed of 314 kph, and get to 100 kilometers an hour in 3.6 seconds. There’s more than enough there to get the point across, and so Aston Martin will be making a statement in no time at all.

It’s also the first Aston Martin to be fitted with an Electronic Rear Differential. Also known as an E-Diff, this feature allows the Vantage to react to the ongoing moment. It can literally direct engine power to the individual wheel that needs it most, going from fully open to fully locked in milliseconds.

It’s not out yet, as deliveries begin in the third quarter of 2018, but when we say it’ll get here fast we mean it both ways.
